Second boat capsize in Andhra in 2 days

At least one person drowned and ten others are missing after a country boat capsized in the Tandva reservoir (about 160 kilometres from Visakhapatnam city) in Visakhpatnam district of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.

This is the second incident of boat capsize in as many days.

District Collector Shyamal Rao who is supervising the rescue operations said that 12 people from Ammapeta village were going in the country-made boat that capsized in the middle of the reservoir. One person swam to safety, whereas one body was fished out by local divers.

On the request of state government a team of naval divers with inflatable boats have reached the site and started search operations.
