THE BOARD of Governors of the Chandra Shekhar Azad Agriculture Technology University (CSA) has elected one of the experts as a member of the Board of Selection for the vice-chancellor of the university. The selection was made at a meeting held on August 11.

Now with the formation of the selection board the chances of appointing a permanent vice-chancellor for the CSA have brightened.
The term of the existing V-C is to expire on September 18.
The elected expert member is Sant VS yadav. The two other members of the selection board will be UP Agriculture Production Commissioner Anis Ansari and UP Council for Agriculture Research Director General PPS yadav.
The board will finalise the panel of the prospective candidates for the post of vice-chancellor and recommend the name to the Chancellor of the Universities for his approval.
It is worth mentioning that all the posts of vice-chancellors in about five State universities were filled. But in the case of Chandra Shekhar Azad Agriculture Technology University the government has not been able to finalise the name of the V-C so for. According to informed sources the post of V-C at the CSA University has fallen victim to the lack of political will.
If rumours can at all be believed, the decision over the first panel was deferred as one of the UP Ministers could not get his man appointed as V-C of the university.

{{/usCountry}}This time also there is a tussle between two bigwigs for getting their man appointed as V-C.
Teachers and students on the campus feel that till the tussle was resolved, the issue of appointment of a permanent V-C would linger on for an indefinite period. According to them the existing acting V-C was non-controversial and he could be given a term to serve the university.
