Strongly objecting over the involvement of Ancient History department in organising the seminar, the coordinator of Gandhi Vichar Manch and Public Union for Civil Liberties, Fateh Bahadur Singh said any department of university should not be involved in programme of the political party or organisation.

Singh has written a letter to the head of Ancient History department Prof Mata Prasad Tripathi stating the active involvement of the department in such programmes to propagate the policies of RSS was against the spirit of the constitution.

The seminar has been jointly organised by All India Bhartiya Sahitya Parishad and Rashtriya Swamsewak Sangh to mark the birth centenary celebration of founder of RSS Sadashivrao Golwalker.

Responding to the objection raised by members of Gandhi Vichar Manch, Prof Tripathi said it was neither illegal nor immoral to participate in such seminars.

Meanwhile, head of the department of Law in University, Prof Anirudh Prasad has also raised 10 questions before the organising committee of seminar and said he had no connection with a handbill published by the organisers to ensure the success of the seminar.

Meanwhile, president of organising committee Shyam Bihari Agrawal and
secretary Harish Dwivedi said that Gorakhpur was a centre of Hindu awareness and in the seminar half a dozen thing tanks would express their views.
