A SEMINAR on ‘Dr BR Amedkar’s vision of equitable society: Role of administrative system and media’ will be held under the aegis of Dr Ambedkar Memorial Publication Institute near Board Office here on December 30.
Eminent litterateur and journalist Kamleshwar will deliver a lecture on the occasion. The special issue of the magazine ‘Nai Charcha’ will also be released. Journalists who have played a part in raising awareness about Dalit issues would be felicitated, said Mukesh Gajbhiye, who is organising the event. Dr Indresh Gajbhiye will preside over the programme.
The convener of the institute Suresh Jadhav said that Dr BR Ambedkar made a great effort to bridge social and economic inequality in the country and towards establishing of a fair society. Besides, he undertook movements for Dalits’ entry into the temples and drawing water from public places.
Litterateur Mohandas Nemishrai will be the chief guest at the seminar. BJP leader Anil Dave, Congress spokesman Brajmohan Shrivastava, Dr BS Nigam, senior journalist LS Hardenia, Dr Mohan Patil and Sunil Borse will be amongst the other participants.
