Sensex down 20 points in early trade

The benchmark index Sensex slides in early trade on Friday in tandem with Asian market trend.

The benchmark index Sensex slided by nearly 20 points in early trade today on the Bombay Stock Exchange in tandem with Asian market trend.

The BSE 30-share index, Sensex, which fell by over 143 points yesterday, lost another 19.72 points at 13,851.99 points in the first five minutes of trading.

Similarly, the broader National Stock Exchange index, Nifty, was down up by 10.30 points at 3,978.50.

The weak spots in opening trade were Larsen and Toubro, MTNL, ONGC, NTPC and BHEL.

However, Reliance Industries, Reliance Capital, Tata consultancy and ACC recovered on selective buying by funds.

Meanwhile, stocks of Tanla Solutions were listed at nearly 37.7 per cent premium at Rs 365.
