Sensex ends 9 pts down on late selling

Late selling by profit-takers reversed an early rising trend as the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark, Sensex, on Tuesday lost 9.06 points to end at 11,502.62 points.

The 30-share sensitive index touched a high of 11,619.86 points and a low of 11,460.934 points during the day in choppy trade.

Similarly, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty ended down by 1.40 points at 3,364.60 after moving between 3,398.35 and 3351.50 points during the day.

Auto and consumer goods met with profit selling at prevailing higher levels, pushing the benchmark index in the negative zone.
