The benchmark Sensex crashed by 371 points on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Monday with most of the index-related stocks closing in the red on heavy selling by funds.

The Sensex was down by 370.87 points at 10,042.06 at close after touching a low of 9991.12 points.

Similarly, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty lost 107.10 at 2943.20. It touched the day's low of 2928.
The selling activity spilled over a wide-front which pulled down all the 30 Sensex-related stocks, including those in the metal segment.
