Sensex regains 13,000-level at opening

The Sensex, which had lost over 62 points on Tuesday, recovered by 69.66 points to 13,031.56 in the first five minutes of trade.

The benchmark Sensex recovered by more than 69 points to regain 13,000 level in early trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Wednesday as funds and general investors made fresh buying in blue-chip stocks.

The Sensex, which had lost over 62 points on Tuesday, recovered by 69.66 points to 13,031.56 in the first five minutes of trade.

Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty was up by 33.60 points at 3,777.70.

Major support to the Sensex came from stocks such as Bajaj Auto, BHEL, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Wipro, Dr Reddy's Lab, Maruti Udyog, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Reliance Industries, Reliance Communications, HDFC Bank, ITC Ltd and Hindustan Lever.
