The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark, Sensex, closed down by over 180 points on Friday on selling by funds and retail investors, triggered by weak global markets.

The BSE 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) closed 180.28 points lower at 10,678.22 points. It had touched a low of 10,563.76 points earlier in the day.

Similarly, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty fell by 45.95 points at 3,123.35 points, after touching a low of 3,089.55 points.
