Sensex up 110 points in early trade

The benchmark index gains nearly 110 points in early trade on the back of funds buying in blue-chip stocks.

The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark, Sensex rose by nearly 110 points in early trade on Monday on the back of funds buying in blue-chip stocks.

The 30-share index (Sensex), which had gained over 345 points in the last trading session, gathered another 109.83 points at 14,465.38 in first five minutes of trading.

In similar manner, the National Stock Exchange Nifty rose by 31.10 points at 4,177.30.

The major gainers were Reliance Industries, Reliance Capital, Reliance Energy, State Bank of India, HDFC Ltd, Grasim Industries, BHEL, Bajaj auto, Mahindra and Mahindra and ICICI Bank.
