Sensex up 44 points in early trade

The bench mark Sensex gained further by over 44 points in early trade in the Mumbai Stock Exchange on Friday on sustained buying by funds in blue-chip shares.

The Sensex, which had gained 13.63 points in previous trading, closed further by 47.30 points at 12428.04 in first five minutes of trading.

Similarly, the Nifty index on the wide-based National Stock Exchange moved by 25.50 points at 25.50.
