Sensex up by 35 points in early trade

The 30-share sensitive index which had gained over 40 points on Friday, was up by another 35.47 points.

The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex gained over 35 points on Monday in early trade, on the back of buying by foreign funds in blue-chip stocks.

The 30-share sensitive index which had gained over 40 points on Friday, was up by another 35.47 points at 11,607.67 in the first five minute of trade. Similarly, the National Stock Exchange index, Nifty, shot up by 10.35 points at 3,396.30.

The major contributors to the rise in the Sensex were Reliance Industries, ACC, Larsen and Toubro, Tata Motors, Maruti Udyog, Hero Honda, State Bank of India, Ranbaxy, Dr Reddy's, ONGC, Hindalco, Tata Consultancy and Reliance Petroleum.
