Australian leg spinner Shane Warne on Tuesday said that the team winning the series in India was more important than him claiming the bowling world record.
Warne said India remained an elusive domain for the Aussies and that the record for most number of Test scalps would be an icing on the cake with the team conquering the final frontier.
"The most important thing is that Australia wins the series and it is upper most in our minds," Warne said in Chennai.
"I have been playing for 14 or 15 years and we have won everywhere except here. It would be nice to finish your career off with such a creditable achievement," he said.
"Getting the world record is a nice opportunity for me but from the team's point of view if we win this Test and take a 2-0 lead, it will be a great situation."
Warne scalped four wickets in the first Test in Bangalore to move to 531 and one short of Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan in the Test ladder. He said he might have finally got the measure of the Indian batsmen.
"I have worried the (Indian) batsmen well enough. Initially, I was pretty ordinary and slightly impatient towards the end. After the first 50 overs, I was able to create half chances. I am pretty happy the way I bowled."
