All the seven members of a family, including five children, were charred to death when a fire broke out in their house at Phek in Nagaland, police said.

Though the exact cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained, it was suspected that sparks from a battery kept inside the house might have lit the petrol kept in a jaricane, leading to the fire at Bible Hill colony of Phek town, they said.
