Several hurt in post-poll violence

POST-POLL violence in five wards and incident of stone pelting, firing have increased the worries of district administration. The supporters of the contestants indulged in a pitch battle, where they exchanged firing near Kharaiya Pokhra under Shahpur police station. They damaged a couple of four wheelers and many motorcycles. One person sustained bullet injuries while others have sustained minor injuries.

The supporters of the contestants indulged in a pitch battle, where they exchanged firing near Kharaiya Pokhra under Shahpur police station. They damaged a couple of four wheelers and many motorcycles.

One person sustained bullet injuries while others have sustained minor injuries.

Police have registered a case in four incidents but no arrest was reported till filing of the report.

According to a report, under Shahpur police station supporters of two contestants indulged in stone pelting and thrashed each other. Shahpur Loktantric Congress candidate’s supporters Vikky Yadav sustained injuries when the supporters of other candidate attacked him. According to a report, the exchange of firing led injuries to a person who was walking there.

The injured has been identified Anil Kumar Mishra (36) his condition is reported to be critical, as he has received blood injuries in the stomach.

In another incident near Rajendra Nagar, under Gorakhnath police station, the supporters of SP corporator and members of other group bashed Maya Pandey’s husband, when he was returning from a marriage party.

However, Sanjay Pandey has received serious injuries. He has blamed that the assailant were supporters of independent candidate for corporator’s post.

In another incident of scuffle at Turkmanpur, Siraj Ahmad and Ahmad received serious injuries when the supporters of a candidate Qadar Jahan attacked on Seraj Ahmad. They also looted the gold chain of a footwear traders Ahmad.

Taking the cognisance of Ahmad, police have deployed security forces in these areas and patrolling has been intensified.

In another incident at Bhairopur under Khorabar police station, supporters of Congress and BJP candidate indulged in firing and they stone pelted at each other and damaged three motorcycle and three four wheelers.

Police have registered case in this incident and failed to arrest any miscreants.
