Similar notices were served on him earlier also on October 1 and November 1 last year but obscene hoardings are still hanging high.

The publicity committee of LMC headed by Corporator Sayyed Yawar Hussain ‘Reshu’, has expressed anger over the placement of obscene hoardings on city roads during the meeting of publicity committee on Wednesday in LMC office.

The publicity committee has also objected to the allotment of hoardings and gantries to various agencies with out the approval of committee. The publicity committee has pointed a finger towards the powerful nexus between hoardings mafia and officials of publicity department. They have demanded inquiry against the erring officials in the allotment scam, which is feared in crores.

“The committee has been bypassed on all the occasions of hoardings allotments, we wouldn’t have allowed such obscene hoardings in the city,” said Reshu.

Other members of committee Corporator Nagendra Singh Chauhan and Rajesh Singh Gabbar, also supported the move. The committee has written to acting LMC chief Santosh Kumar regarding the matter.

Meanwhile, taking a serious note of the matter leader of opposition in LMC house and district Samajwadi party president Mujeeb-ur-Rehman ‘Babloo’ has written to urban development minister and chief minister to conduct an inquiry against the corrupt officials of publicity department who have allotted the hoardings without the permission of publicity committee, which has resulted in the loss of revenue for the LMC.
