Shabir Shah taken into preventive custody

Shah was on his way to the "martyr's graveyard" with 200 others when he was stopped.

The seperatist leader and President of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom party Shabir Ahmad Shah has been taken into preventive custody at Munawarabad, official sources said on Thursday.

Shah was on his way to the "martyr's graveyard" with 200 others when he was stopped at Munawarabad and asked to return.

When Shah insisted that he would go ahead with his visit, police chased away his followers and took Shah into preventive custody, the sources said.

The separatist leader has been lodged in Khoti Bagh police station.
