?Shaurya Diwas? peaceful in MP

THE BAJRANG Dal activists observed ?Shaurya Diwas? today to mark the anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition. They resolved to construct the Ram Temple at the site by December 6 next year. It was on December 6, 1992 that the mosque was demolished by the karsevaks.

THE BAJRANG Dal activists observed ‘Shaurya Diwas’ today to mark the anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition. They resolved to construct the Ram Temple at the site by December 6 next year. It was on December 6, 1992 that the mosque was demolished by the karsevaks.

Heavy police deployment was made all over the State, mostly the sensitive places, to avert any untoward incident. In Madhya Bharat prant of Bajrang Dal, which comprises of 25 districts including the Bhopal, the Dal activists took out torch processions, organised maha aartis and held dharm sabhas.

In Bhopal, the activists held a meeting near Vishwa Hindu Parishad office during the day while they took out a procession at Roshanpura in the evening. Maha aartis were held at Hanuman temples. Police force teams were deployed particularly near the mosques. However, there was no report of tension or clash from any part of the city. The officials kept a close watch on the activists’ movement the whole day.

The Bajrang Dal Madhya Bharat convener Manish Dubey said big meetings were held at four places in the region. The places were Sehore, Morena, Sironj and Harda.

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad organised 28 maha aartis and rallies were taken out in 45 places in Indore. The Dharma Raksha Samiti, which is active in the Karbala Maidan and Gangaur Ghat, held maha aarti in the morning.

The Congress observed the day as ‘Sadbhavna Divas’ in Indore. Youth Congress president Devendra Singh Yadav and other activists held prayer meeting at the Gandhi Statue and released white pigeons as a mark of peace. Yadav criticised the saffronites for attempting to spread communal disharmony among the people.

They also organised a human chain on the occasion. Some Muslim organisations are observing it as Black Day. A few leaflets condemning the demolition of the Babri Masjid were distributed near the Chhoti Gwaltoli mosque.
