Eminent Muslim cleric and vice president of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) Maulana Kalbe Sadiq said on Friday that the BJP's prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi's past could be ignored if the latter changed himself.
“I don’t mind ignore Modi’s past if he reforms himself,” Sadiq told a news channel here. People, especially Muslims have lost faith in him because there are differences in his words and deeds, the cleric added.
When asked if the Gujarat chief minister needed to apologise for 2002 riots, Maulana Sadiq said, “instead of tendering an apology he should prove a change through his actions so that people can win back his trust,”.
