Record generation

THE UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam power houses generated a record 2800 mw of electricity at 5 am on Monday. This, according to, MD Avnish Awasthi, was the highest generation by the plants during last one year. He said all the power units of Anpara, Obra and Panki were functional. Awasthi said the Nigam’s powerhouses produced 2843 mw of power at 11 PM on May 18.

Speaking at a felicitation function organised by chairman of the District Cooperative Bank Gajadhar Singh, Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh accused the Central government of step-motherly treatment to UP as far as the supply of electricity was concerned. He said it was Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav who made Rae Bareli free from power cuts on December 10. However, he regretted that credit for this was not being given to the CM.
