Actor Shiney Ahuja’s wife Anupam claimed her husband was being maligned as part of a conspiracy in a press conference on Wednesday.
“It is a conspiracy to malign and frame my husband,” she said.
But she refused to say who could be behind the “conspiracy” and why her husband was being targeted.
A jaded Anupam, who lost her composure when uncomfortable questions were asked, said, “ I trust my husband a hundred and thousand times.”
Anupam, who is also the mother of a one-and-half-year old said she was not supporting her husband out of blind love but because of the companionship they have shared over the last 15 years.
The actor’s wife reposed faith in the judiciary and said the innocence of her husband would be proven.
When asked what she would do if Ahuja was proved guilty, a visibly annoyed Anupam replied, “Can the sun rise from the west? How can my husband be guilty?”
Anupam added she managed to catch a glimse of Ahuja in court but said she had not been able to speak with him.

Ruchika Marwa, the actor’s neighbour, before hugging Anupam in front of the media, said, “I can only say that I have known the Ahujas for four years . I know Shiney is a loving husband, father and son. He will never indulge in such a heinous act”
