Shopian SP, 3 other cops suspended

Among the four policemen are Shopian Superintendent of Police Javaid Iqbal Mattoo and Deputy Superintendent of Police Rohit Baskotra, besides the Science Officer Javaid Iqbal Hafiz.

On Sunday, commission chairman Justice (retired) Muzaffar Jan, confirmed in his interim report that the two women were raped and murdered. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah ordered the inquiry on June 1 after Asiya Jan (17) and her sister-in-law Nelofar (22) were killed in Shopian on the night of May 29.
