A SHOPKEEPER was found dead in his Thakurganj residence here on Saturday morning. The victim’s mother alleged that her daughter-in-law and latter’s family members executed the killing over property dispute.
The complainant Shauqat Jehan informed the police that she was staying with her elder son Idris at the Akbari Gate for the past three days. When she returned home at Garhi Per Khan locality on Saturday morning, she found the lock on the door with the keys in it.
As she entered the room, she was shocked to see the gory scene inside the room. She found her younger son Mohammad Umar’s body lying in a pool of blood.
The assailants had slit Umar’s throat with a sharp-edged weapon and had crushed his head with a heavy object. Shauqat immediately informed the police about the incident.
She said that Umar (25) used to run a shop at the Akbari Gate in Chowk. He had strained relations with his wife Shabana. The latter had gone to her brother Naeem’s place at Dhawain Tola in Thakurganj about a week back following a tiff with Umar.
Shauqat Jehan alleged that Shabana, her sister Rehana, who is a homeguard constable, Naeem and other family members were forcing Umar to transfer the ownership of the shop and the house in Shabana’s name. Since Umar had refused to do so, his wife and her kin were threatening him with dire consequences, Shauqat alleged.
