A spokesperson for the concept says, “We wanted to enhance the shopping experience at our property as much as possible, and food seemed like the perfect tool for it.” What has made the enterprise successful, according to the organizers, “is the shoppers’ chance to discover new kinds of food that they otherwise may not have even considered trying.”

Taking place only once a month on a Friday, as the name suggests, each World Food Friday is governed by a theme.

Today, under the banner of ‘Cupcakes’, Palladium visitors will have the chance to sample a wide range of desserts ranging from muffins to cheesecakes to cupcakes and plain cakes as well.

Among the vendors putting up their products for demo are Deliciae, owned by Bunty Mahajan of Le Cordon Bleu. Crumbilicious, an outfit specialising in organic, low-fat cheesecakes and cupcakes will also make their dishes available for tasting, subsequent to which the products can also be purchased by shoppers.

In the past, Word Food Fridays have showcased cuisines ranging from Mexican to Italian to simply an array of cheeses.
