Shops spring up on Govt land

SEVERAL SHOPS came up on government land outside the platform No. 5 at Bhopal Railway Station. The land was freed recently from encroachers for widening of the road connecting the Alpana Tiraha to Platform Number 5 of the railway station.

SEVERAL SHOPS came up on government land outside the platform No. 5 at Bhopal Railway Station. The land was freed recently from encroachers for widening of the road connecting the Alpana Tiraha to Platform Number 5 of the railway station.

The open land was encroached upon on the road being widened to improve the look around Bhopal railway station. The BMC is spending Rs 1 crore on the widening of road — from Alpana Tiraha to Bhopal railway station.

The road widening work at the cost of Rs one crore is also being carried out from Bharat Talkies Flyover to platform No. 1 of the station. Developmental work worth Rs two crore are being carried out near the railway station.

Half a dozen shops and several makeshift structures came up on the government land adjoining Irani Dera outside the railway station in the past 1week.

Minister for Urban Administration Jayant Malaiya and Minister for Industries and Commerce Babulal Gaur inspected work, which is on government’s priority list, several times.
