These students have failed to submit an explanation from their side as well as from their parents for their conduct.

While one, son of an AU teacher, has submitted an explanation from his side only, the other, who is son of an non-teaching AU employee, has neither submitted explanation from his side nor has his father submitted an undertaking promising his ward's good conduct in future as sought by the varsity authorities.

The three other students, who along with their parents fulfilled the conditions imposed by the varsity authorities, however received a reprieve of sorts and will be allowed to henceforth attend their classes and avail the library facilities.

Letters in this regard were forwarded to the head of the JK Institute of Applied Physics Prof AK Gupta by the AU Proctor on Tuesday.

The matter had however attracted attention when it emerged that one of the girls who had levelled the charges was daughter of an AU teacher and one of the five students accused of eve teasing was also son of an AU faculty member.

"Three students have submitted their explanation and their parents too have submitted the required undertaking. Following this, we have decided to write to Prof Gupta urging him to allow these students to attend their classes and avail the library facilities. However, the other two, who have failed to fulfil the conditions, have been served show cause notices asking from them as to why they should not be formally suspended for their conduct," said AU Proctor Prof HN Mishra.
