These are the examples of just a few queries raised by children dealt by the volunteers at 'Childline' daily.

Reaching out to as many children as possible, the helpline number '1098' of Childline, which is accessible to one and all anytime and anywhere. But the awareness regarding this number is known to very few. And unfortunately those few are often warded off by the PCO owners as they are unaware of its importance.

"But now we have decided to spread the awareness among the PCO owners so that they too feel compassionate about the sufferings of children," said Santosh, a paraprofessional attached with the organisation. For the purpose, Childline is going to organise a meeting which will be headed by Deputy GM of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited. The meeting will take place at Sadhana Sadan on August 20 and it will be attended by most of the PCO owners of the city.

The volunteers are always on their toes to help the children. "We often reach to such children who are injured at the railway junction as they have none who could take care of them. Besides, there are multiple 'lost and found' cases which we have to solve," he added.

The children belonging to well-to-do families come up with the problems related to their teachers and their parents while the ragpickers and other hapless lots seek help for any illness, injury and other such miseries.
