Raj, who had initiated a violent anti-north Indian campaign in February and was arrested on charges of inciting his cadres, plans to hold a rally at the historic Shivaji Park on Saturday, in which he plans to chart out the future course of action for his two-year-old outfit.

Police has already granted permission to Raj for addressing the rally. Meanwhile, Raj's advocate filed an affidavit before the SHRC stating that the commission has no jurisdiction to pass orders against the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Chief.

Acting upon a complaint filed by activist Medha Patkar, the SHRC had summoned Raj to be present at the hearing in the day.
Patkar has filed a complaint against the Maharashtra Police alleging that of the 41 cases registered against Thackeray, police have made him an accused only in one case.

Patkar has alleged that going by the favours offered to Raj Thackeray, police officers were prima facie guilty of the offence of criminal omission of departmental action.
