“Shruti met me some months ago expressing her desire to work with me. I thought she would suit the part opposite Emran Hashmi perfectly,” said Bhandarkar.

The filmmaker is also a fan of the actress’ dad, Kamal Haasan, and thinks he is a “legend”.
