Shutdown in Kerala town after BJP worker's death

The BJP on Wednesday called a dawn-to-dusk shutdown in Malampuzha town following the death of an activist who was injured in a political clash.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)on Wednesday called a dawn-to-dusk shutdown in Malampuzha town here following the death of an activist who was injured in a political clash on Monday.

K. Aaruchami, 48, succumbed to injuries on Tuesday at the Medical College Hospital at Thrissur.

Aaruchami was injured when he was attacked by workers of the ruling Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M)on Sunday evening, police said. Four people were arrested in connection with the incident.
