Shyam Saran meets Lankan President

India's Foreign Secretary, Shyam Saran, met President Mahinda Rajapaksa and other Sri Lankan leaders during his six-hour stop over in Colombo en route to New Delhi from Male in the Maldives on Tuesday.

Sources said that Saran's meetings with President Rajapaksa, Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera and the opposition leader, Ranil Wickremesinghe, were "very substantial" and covered matters of mutual interest.
