{{/usCountry}}It was a long wait for Kumar to be nominated for the Outer Delhi Lok Sabha seat. He was elected to the Lok Sabha from outer Delhi in 1984 but was denied in successive polls following his alleged involvement in the anti-Sikh riots in 1984 after the assassination of Indira Gandhi.
