A spokesman for the camp said here that SSKY was developed by Swami Buddapuri Maharaj, who is holder of an M Tech degree from IIT-Delhi. He gave up his lucrative profession and left for Himalayas where he took ‘sanyas’.

He then established his ashram at Malike in Moga district of Punjab and invented the Siddhamrit Surya Kriya Yoga after considerable experimentation. The goal of SSKY is to wipe out physical ailments of all kinds in the first instance by regular practice of Surya Kriya Yoga.

Swamy Suryendu Puri claims that Surya Kriya can cure all optical disorders, constipation, indigestion, gastric troubles, migraine, mental disorders, depression and other hormonal disorders. It increases work efficiency and induces positive behavioral changes. Solar energy can be tapped to dissolve cholesterol and revitalise insulin flow.
