If trade natter is to be believed then Saif Ali Khan and Ranbir Kapoor will replicate Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio in Siddharth Raj Anand next movie, which finds inspiration in Martin Scorsese's Oscar-winning The Departed.
Sajid Nadiadwala will produce the film which is expected to start towards 2008-end. Will it be called O Jaanewaale? Gaya gaya chala gaya?
Anand is currently directing Ranbir Kapoor in a Yash Raj production with Bipasha Basu, and Deepika Padukone Minissha Lamba. It is believed to be ‘inspired' by Hollywood's The Bachelors.
The film also had Katrina Kaif but her character was snipped out since the film was getting a bit too long.
Telugu remake
Ram Gopal Varma had his sights on The Departed but following the controversy over Partner (which was a lift of Hitch), the project was dropped. But that did not stop him from producing a Departed-inspired film in Telugu.
Scorsese's The Departed revolves around two men from opposite sides of the law who are sent as moles to infiltrate the enemy camp.
