Siemens Q2 net at Rs 117.82 cr

The company's total Income for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, stood at Rs 1175.32 crore in the second quarter 2005-06.

Siemens Ltd, manufacturers of power equipment, on Wednesday posted a net profit after tax at Rs 117.82 crore for the second quarter ended March 31, 2006, as against Rs 79.37 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005.

The company's total Income for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, stood at Rs 1175.32 crore in the second quarter 2005-06 from Rs 754.86 crore for the corresponding period in 2004-05.

The figures for the current quarter are not comparable with the previous period results as Demag Deiaval Industrial Turbo machinery Pvt Ltd (DDIT) and Siemens VDO Automotive Ltd (SVDO) were amalgamated with Siemens from April 1, 2005, and October 1, 2004, respectively.

Siemens shares were trading at Rs 5,795, up 4.10 per cent at the BSE.
