As many as 50 marble dealers, who have been allotted plots for setting up marble shops in Sector 34, have been operating from the Sikanderpur market on MG Road. MCG commissioner Sudhir Rajpal has written a letter to SS Dhillon, financial secretary in Haryana government, requesting him to inform the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) to cancel plot allotments of those marble dealers, who have not shifted to Sector 34 despite repeated reminders.

“We will take up the issue with the Haryana government to put pressure on the Huda administrator to issue notices to marble dealers and cancel their plots at Sector 34 if they don’t comply with the Huda notice,” said the MCG commissioner.

“We’ve written six times to the Huda administrator to issue cancellation notices to the marble dealers so that they are compelled to shift to Sector 34,” said Rajpal, adding that the corporation was bound by the court order not to force them to vacate the land.

“I have asked the estate officer concerned to send cancellation orders to all erring marble dealers and take appropriate action,” said Praveen Kumar, Huda administrator.
