Six bills withdrawn, one defeated in council

Nearly seven private members' bills were moved in the House for introduction. Out of these, six bills were withdrawn by the members after receiving assurances by the government, while the bill introduced by Jugal Kishore was defeated after the members pressed for voting.

Nearly seven private members' bills were moved in the House for introduction. Out of these, six bills were withdrawn by the members after receiving assurances by the government, while the bill introduced by Jugal Kishore was defeated after the members pressed for voting.

Naresh Kumar Gupta moved a bill to amend state's Ranbir Penal Code, 1989 (1932 AD), and a bill to amend Jammu and Kashmir Land Revenue Act, 1996.

Syed Bashir Ahmad Veeri moved a bill to repeal the Enemy Agents Ordinance, 2005 (1948 AD) ordinance No VIII of 2005, and a bill to provide reservation of handicapped children of victims of militancy, in the appointments and professional institutions and in other government-recognised institutions in Jammu and Kashmir.

Shehnaz Ganai moved a bill to lay down an obligation to publish citizen charter and redress grievance of the public in a time bound manner, and a bill to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Act, 1989.

Jugal Kishore moved a bill to prohibit the sale of meat and liquor at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, Katra, and its surroundings within a radius of 10 kilometers.
