Slaughterhouse issue kicks up a row

THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE issue has kicked up a row in political circles in the district. While BJP MP Yogi Adityanath and the party activists decided to oppose the construction of a modern slaughterhouse at Mahewa, the Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders supported the construction of the slaughterhouse.

THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE issue has kicked up a row in political circles in the district. While BJP MP Yogi Adityanath and the party activists decided to oppose the construction of a modern slaughterhouse at Mahewa, the Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders supported the construction of the slaughterhouse.

SP District unit president Chandrabali Yadav, Dr Rajnikant Pandey, Rajnish Yadav and Inamullah said that slaughterhouse was not a new thing for the city and blamed BJP MP for making it an issue.

They said that there would not be any pollution due to the modern slaughterhouse.

They said the slaughtering of all the animals in each part of the State should either be stopped or the construction of a new slaughterhouse in Gorakhpur should not be opposed.

SP leader blamed Adityanath and the BJP activists for creating confusion among the people. He said that Adityanath was a hindrance in way to development in the region. They also justified the development of Saifai.

SP leader also condemned lodging of FIR against cabinet Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav by the Election Commission and said it was a deep-rooted conspiracy against his party leader.

He said that the BJP and the SP were doing politics to polarise the vote bank on this issue. He blamed BJP MP Adityanath for disturbing the communal harmony by laying the foundation stone of a road on a piece of disputed land.
