A slight intensity earthquake measuring 2.6 on the Richter Scale hit Thane district in Maharashtra early Tuesday.

The epicentre of the quake, which occurred at 1.07 am, was at 19.3 degree North latitude and 73.3 degree East longitude, the Meteorological Department said here.
