The 'festival of love' evoked a mixed response this year among the love besotted couples. Amidst the slogans raised against this special day by handful of culture cops, the majority chose to stay home and wished each other with the help of mobile messages then still there were few who showed the courage to celebrate it in restaurants and parks.

The owners of the restaurants located in posh area of the city served nothing special except, however, confirming of taking special care of the visitors to the place.

A new trend of celebrating the 'Valentine's Day Eve' was reported this year. "We have served nothing special. A noticeable change was witnessed about the couples celebrating the eve and we had a good crowd on February 13 in the evening. May be the fear of facing the restraint of the culture cops on the D-day made them choose the evening before to celebrate the event", said Raju Sahi, an employee of a popular restaurant.

Naresh Madhyan, the owner of a restaurant which has gained the reputation of the Mecca for youthful crowd, admitted of receiving swarm of youngsters on February 13 in the evening.

"Celebrating the eve is fast catching up and we are receiving equally good response today", he said.

The owner of yet another restaurant, however, concentrated on providing better home delivery services through which attractive offers were given to the couples. Arun Shukla, the manager of the home delivery services stated of offering concession on most of the delicacies.

On being asked about the threat created by culture cops, he stated of receiving a normal crowd on account of the interior location of the restaurant.

Lesser crowd was reported on the road side restaurants and cafes.
