Smuggled liquor seized

The Excise Department seized 1,000 bottles of smuggled liquors in a raid and arrested five persons. In other bust-ins conducted on Saturday, a masala manufacturing unit, a medical store and a petrol pump were sealed.

“From Dankore and Kakode area, 1,000 quarter bottles of smuggled liquor was seized on Saturday and five persons were arrested,” said J. Upadhayay, District Excise Officer.

Food department officials sealed Jeet Masala factory in Sector 80 and filed an FIR against the owner for repacking expired material.

A medical store, which was running without licence, was sealed in Surajpur.

District Supply office sealed an HP petrol pump after 1,113 litres of excess diesel was found on the premises.
