For many, the price is a bit too steep. "I’d rather buy a house instead. In a country where so many people are living hand-to-mouth, this is just a joke," says Ashish Gupta, 26. "I think I’ll have bankruptcy nightmares if I sleep on a mattress that expensive," says Gungun Mishra, 25

However, there are some who feel this is a new benchmark in luxury. "This could be a status symbol in the home decor segment," says Nitin Bhasin, 32. "We spend hours in bed, why not glam it up too," says Ashish Gupta, 26. "What’s the harm in indulging if someone can afford it?" says Riya De, 19.
