Sonia meets IUML chief

Sonia Gandhi met Indian Union Muslim League chief Thangal and discussed the general political situation in the country and prospects of a UDF victory in Kerala.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday held a discussion with Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) supremo Panakkad Syed Muhammabali Shihab Thangal at Kozhikode in Kerala.

The two leaders talked about the general political situation in the country and prospects of the UDF in Kerala, in which the League is the second largest partner, IUML sources here said.

Chief Minister AK Antony, AICC General Secretary Ahmed Patel, IUML all-India General Secretary E Ahmed and state Industries Minister PK Kunhalikutty were present.
