"Ask Rahul. He is sitting in the vehicle," Gandhi quipped when reporters asked her about what role her son would be given in the party.

There is intense speculation that Rahul, who successfully spearheaded his mother's poll campaign in Rae Bareli, would be soon given some important post in the Congress.

Gandhi, who was recently re-elected to the Lok Sabha within two months of her resigning from the post on the office-of-profit issue, attacked the Mulayam Singh government for cutting off power supply to her constituency.

"On my visit to this place, the only complaint I have heard is that since my election, the little electricity that this area was being supplied has also been cut off by the state government. Is this just?" the Congress president said.

Gandhi, who was on a two-day visit, alleged that the government was deliberately imposing difficulties on the people of Rae Bareli because she was an MP from that constituency.
