Sonia to attend Olympics' opening ceremony

UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi will leave for Beijing on Thursday to attend the opening ceremony of the Olympics. Her children Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi may accompany her.

UPA Chairperson and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi will leave for Beijing on Thursday to attend the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.

Several world leaders will be also attending the grand event to be held on August 8.

Congress sources said that Gandhi is likely to be accompanied by her children Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi, who is the Congress general secretary.

Sonia Gandhi is expected to be in China for two to three days.
