Sonia visits grandson in Doon school

UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi arrived in Dehradun on Sunday morning, a day after her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Wadra’s visit to her son Raihan, a student of Doon School. HT reports.

UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi arrived in Dehradun on Sunday morning, a day after her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Wadra’s visit to her son Raihan, a student of Doon School.

Priyanka had made a few visits to the state capital late last year to seek admission for her son in the prestigious boarding school, which is known as the Eton of the East.

Sources said that Sonia, Priyanka and Priyanka’s daughter were here on a private visit. Officials and security men ensured ‘secrecy’ about their tour.

The family stayed at the Raj Bhawan. Sonia however was expected to leave Doon for New Delhi on Sunday afternoon.

The school happens to be the alma mater of late PM Rajiv Gandhi and uncle Sanjay Gandhi.
