Since over a dozen applications were on the table, committee members decided to turn down every application. This was owing to the old electric wiring in the hostels, which is inept to bear the load of running air-conditioners.

The committee decided that only fan, heater and cooler would be allowed inside hostel rooms, that too on payment. The charge for cooler was fixed at Rs 1,800 per year while for heater it would be Rs 3,600. It was also decided that female hostellers should return to their rooms by 8 pm while boys were required to be back by 10 pm. If boys needed to stay out till late they must report at 10 pm once and then leave again. When they return finally they need to sign on the late arrival register.

Female guests can stay in the boys hostel only up to 8 pm after which they have to leave premises till morning. Prof Prabhat Sithole chaired the meeting while Dr VK Singh, Dr PK Sharma, Dr Rajendra Prasad, Dr Reema Kumari and Dr AA Mahdi attended it as members.
