According to Delhi Fire Service, the blaze started at around 1.10 am in Jangpura Extension.

"We rushed 16 fire tenders and the fire was doused by 3.30 am. Since the slum was enclosed by a drain on one side and houses on the other, we faced some difficulty in approaching the area," said a fire official.

One person was injured and taken to a hospital. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
