Talking to media persons, he alleged, voters were intimidated by miscreants who went rigged the polls and the administration did not take any action against them.

Calling it a sad day for those living in a democratic set-up, he said the time had come when the people should stop such misuse of power. He said the assembly elections would be held shortly soon. If people wanted a fair election it was necessary that the election was held peacefully, he added.

“To ensure this, the people of this state should appeal to the Centre to impose President’s rule in the State,” he said.

He said, it was the right time to seek imposition of President’s rule in the state. This, he said, was also necessary to save our democratic institutions that were facing danger. He said his party was prepared to lend all support to such movements.
