Keen to make an impact in the Delhi assembly elections, two heavyweight parties from Uttar Pradesh - the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Samajwadi Party (SP) - plan to field candidates from all 70 seats.
The parties have started groundwork and are in the process of identifying target voters.
Going a step ahead, the BSP is planning to hold eight rallies of party chief Mayawati in four days. The rallies will be held just before the assembly election during the last leg of campaigning.
The SP, who is currently in power in Uttar Pradesh, is also in talks with senior leaders to convince them to campaign in Delhi.
"From November 28 to December 1, Mayawatiji will address rallies. Two rallies are scheduled in a day. The meetings have been planned in a way that she has one rally in one Lok Sabha constituency at least," said Ram Achal Rajbhar, Delhi BSP president.
The party is targeting Dalit and Muslim voters.
A team has already been formed to chalk out the party's strategy and plan rallies in small pockets in Delhi. "We have identified the areas where our target voters live. There are no dearth of issues in Delhi. From water to power and roads, everything is in a mess here. We will specifically target voters in outer and east Delhi," said ML Tomar, a party member.

{{/usCountry}}The SP, on the other hand, is planning to target voters who live in areas closer to Uttar Pradesh. "We have Noida and Ghaziabad near Delhi and a lot of office-goers commute to these places from Delhi. We will target them apart from highlighting issues such as education and healthcare system," said Usha Yadav, Delhi SP president.
The party is in the process of finalising the name of candidates. Those with local connect will be given priority.
